A Samoan rugby player in the Saracens academy has been reported to be involved in a nightclub fight with England cricketers Ben Stokes and Gus Atkinson in London.
Totoa Auvaa, 21, is reported by British media to have been part of an incident at the Rex Rooms nightclub in Chelsea in the early hours of Monday, following an end-of-season social event involving both rugby and cricket players.
According to reports, a group of Saracens players had been out in London after their season ended, while England cricketers Stokes and Atkinson were also at the venue following England’s Test win over New Zealand at Lord’s.
Stokes and Atkinson were in the VIP area of the same nightclub into the early hours of Monday, having broken the latest curfew for the England men’s Test team. A fight allegedly broke out involving the trio and a member of the team’s security. It is unclear at this stage whether Stokes and Atkinson retaliated.
England No. 8 Ben Earl and Samoa international Theo McFarland were also reportedly present, but are believed not to have been involved in the incident.
