Expelled members of the Umkhonto weSizwe Party, Nhlamulo Ndhlela and founding member Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, addressed the media on June 21.
Nhlamulo Ndhlela and Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, expelled members of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP), have described their expulsion as the result of internal party forces attempting to hijack the party and sideline its founder, Jacob Zuma.
During a Sunday media briefing, the two denied being expelled, calling it an attempt to seize control of the MK Party.
“The current developments cannot be viewed in isolation. Since the formation of the MK Party, there have been several attempts by individuals and factions to capture, manipulate, and ultimately hijack the organisation for personal and political gain.
"During the 2024 General Elections, serious concerns arose regarding the handling of the party's parliamentary candidate list. Information emerged indicating that processes entrusted to certain leaders had been manipulated and that names that appeared on lists were without proper consultation and authorisation by the President,” said Ndhlela.
