Kubota Spears fullback Shaun Stevenson has confirmed he will represent Samoa in international rugby after completing his required stand-down period, RugbyJP.com reported.
The 29-year-old former All Blacks player said he will be available for Samoa from November, ending speculations about his international future.
“Yeah, I’m putting my hand up, I think quite a few of us boys will be playing for Samoa come the November Test period,” Stevenson said.
Stevenson played one Test for New Zealand in 2023, scoring a try on debut against Australia. He later moved to Japan to play in League One with Kubota Spears.
He qualifies for Samoa through family heritage and will be eligible under World Rugby’s three-year stand-down rule from August.
