The KIMS Hospital, in association with the Indian Medical Association (IMA), organised a special Open Tennis Tournament for doctors and IMA members from Rayalaseema region on the occasion of Doctors Day 2026 in Kurnool. The initiative aimed to promote awareness about health, fitness, and well being among medical professionals.The tournament was held at the Arshia and Myper Tennis Academy on Joharapuram road in Kurnool on Sunday. Doctors from various medical specialties participated and demonstrated a spirit of sportsmanship. Competitions were held in the men’s singles and doubles categories. Special categories were also created for medical interns and medical students, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their talent and skills.Speaking on the occasion, the organisers emphasized that doctors should adopt a healthy lifestyle alongside fulfilling their professional responsibilities. A total of 30 teams participated in the tournament. Competitions were held in two age categories — above 50 years and below 50 years.The prize distribution ceremony was attended by Indian Medical Association (IMA), Kurnool, president Dr. Ramachandra Naidu who was the chief guest. KIMS Hospital director Dr. P. Govardhan Reddy presented prizes to the winners and runners-up.The organisers stated that such tournaments not only help improve physical fitness but also strengthen friendship, camaraderie, and mutual cooperation among doctors.
