Two National Eligibility cum Entrance Exam (NEET) aspirants in Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri districts ended their lives on Saturday (June 20, 2026) evening.R. Roshini (19), a resident of Endapatti near Palacode in Dharmapuri district, completed Class 12 in 2025 and joined a NEET coaching centre in Namakkal, where she studied. For the past two months, she had been preparing for the exam at her house. An exam centre in Dharmapuri was allocated for her to take the exam on Sunday (June 21, 2026). Meanwhile, on Saturday (June 20, 2026), around 5:30 p.m., her father, Ramakrishnan (47), came home and found that Roshini had taken her own life. The Palacode police sent the body to Dharmapuri Medical College Hospital for a postmortem examination. The police have registered a case and are continuing their investigation.Likewise, C. Vetri Anandan (20), a resident of Bagalur Road near Hosur in the Krishnagiri district, completed Class 12 in 2023 and joined a NEET coaching centre in Namakkal, where he studied for two years. However, he was unable to clear the exam on two occasions. For the past year, he has stayed at home to prepare for the exams and appeared for the third time on May 3.Police sources said that he claimed he would clear the exam, as he found it easy. However, he was frustrated because the exam was cancelled for the fourth time, and he had prepared for it again. Meanwhile, on Saturday (June 20, 2026), at around 2:30 p.m., his mother, Uthirakumari, went to a grocery shop, and while returning, she found that her son had ended his life. Upon receiving the information, Hudco police rushed to the scene and sent the body to Hosur Government Hospital for a postmortem.
