On June 20, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Antipinsky Oil Refinery in the Tyumen region of the Russian Federation, located 2,000 kilometers from the border.
According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.
“On June 20, in the Tyumen region of the Russian Federation, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Tyumen Oil Refinery (Antipinsky). The results of the strike are being assessed. The distance from Ukraine’s state border to the facility is over 2,000 km,” the statement reads.
The Tyumen Oil Refinery is one of the largest oil refineries in Western Siberia, with a capacity of approximately 7.5–9 million metric tons of crude oil per year. The facility produces diesel fuel, gasoline, and other petroleum products, including for the needs of the Russian military.
In addition, on the night of June 21, the TES-Terminal-1 oil terminal in Kerch was struck; specifically, a fire was reported on the facility’s grounds.
