Two days before kickoff, Spain launched its official fan token, $SPAIN, through the Chiliz-powered Socios.com platform.
A token timed for maximum attention
The $SPAIN token went live on June 19, giving holders governance rights and team rewards. Holders get to participate in certain team-related decisions, plus access to exclusive perks, while the token itself trades on crypto markets.
The timing was deliberate. Launching a fan token 48 hours before a must-win World Cup game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta is about as close to a captive audience as you can get.
