New Delhi, The Pakistan High Commission here has issued 438 visas to pilgrims from India to attend commemorative events related to the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, being held there from June 21-30.Maharaja Ranjit Singh was a revered ruler of the Sikh Empire, and died in the 19th century in Lahore."On the occasion of the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has issued 438 visas to pilgrims from India to attend commemorative events scheduled to be held in Pakistan from June 21-30, 2026," the high commission said in a statement on Friday.Extending his heartfelt felicitations to the pilgrims, Pakistan's Charge d'Affaires in New Delhi, Saad Ahmad Warraich, underscored "Pakistan's continued commitment to promote interreligious and intercultural harmony and understanding," it said.The issuance of visas is covered under the framework of the Pakistan-India Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines of 1974.
