A migrant worker from Jharkhand was beaten to death near FCI roundabout in the early hours of Saturday.Police identified the deceased as Rajesh Kumar Singh, 40. He was employed as a contract labourer at the electric vehicle manufacturing company in Thoothukudi, but quit his job a few days ago.Preliminary investigation revealed that the incident occurred following a quarrel between the victim and suspects identified as R. Siva, 23, of Bryant Nagar, T. James, 25, of Rajagopal Nagar, Boominathan, 24, from Rajiv Nagar and Kasaali, 26. from Third Mile. The suspects allegedly assaulted Rajesh Kumar Singh with a wooden stick, resulting in his death.Upon receiving information, Thoothukudi South police recovered and sent the body for post-mortem examination at Thoothukudi Government Medical College Hospital.
