A two-day heritage tour to the Muziris region, believed to have been home to an ancient trading port, will be organised on June 27 and 28.The tour will cover the historically significant locations of Kodungallur, Kottappuram, Chendamangalam, Paliam, Paravur and Pattanam, situated around the Periyar estuary. Titled `Roots and Roads: Muziris Heritage Journey,’ the programme will offer participants an opportunity to explore the region’s rich historical and cultural legacy through visits to places of worship, forts, palaces and archaeological sites.The tour is being organised from Kottayam with the support of Kottayam Nattukoottam and Dharini.
