The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed the distribution of sensitive election materials across Ekiti State ahead of Saturday’s governorship election, as candidates from 10 political parties battle to emerge as the state’s next governor.

The 2026 Ekiti State governorship election is holding across the state’s 16 local government areas, with more than one million registered voters expected to determine whether incumbent Governor Oyebanji secures a second term in office or a new leader takes over the reins of governance for the next four years.

According to INEC, a total of 1,059,360 registered voters are eligible to participate in the election, which will be conducted across 2,445 polling units located in 177 wards. Voting is scheduled to commence at 8:30 a.m.
