A new global study has revealed the television shows that are most influencing everyday fashion choices, with Netflix’s hit sci-fi series Stranger Things emerging as the biggest style driver.

The research, conducted by menswear brand The Jacket Maker, analysed Google search data for outfit-related queries linked to popular TV shows. It found that viewers are increasingly turning to on-screen wardrobes for real-life style inspiration, with millions searching for clothing ideas based on their favourite characters.

At the top of the list, Stranger Things recorded a combined average of 21,639 monthly searches, making its retro-inspired wardrobe the most influential among audiences. The show’s blend of 1980s casual wear featuring denim jackets, graphic tees and vintage sneakers continues to shape youth fashion trends years after its debut.

In second place is the crime drama Peaky Blinders, with 12,993 monthly searches. The series’ sharply tailored suits, wool coats and signature flat caps have cemented its influence on modern menswear, particularly for formal and semi-formal styling.

Dark teen drama Wednesday follows closely in third place, generating 11,592 monthly searches. Its gothic aesthetic, led by monochrome uniforms and minimalist styling, has fuelled a wave of searches for “Wednesday outfits,” particularly among younger viewers.
