“The PGSA reserves the right to introduce insurance fees in the future… Owners will then be required to purchase and renew coverage accordingly,” read a statement published by Iran’s Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA).
Hormuz Traffic Still Well Below Prewar Levels
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) countered the PGSA’s statement, saying it would continue to support free navigation through Hormuz. CENTCOM added that over 20 vessels crossed through the passageway last night.
