A significant drop in liquid fuel prices was recorded in the domestic market over the past month, as a result of the gradual de-escalation of the Middle East crisis and falling global crude oil prices.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Development’s Fuel Price Observatory, the average nationwide price of regular unleaded gasoline (95 octane) stood at €1.968 per liter, a decrease of 15 cents compared with €2.119/lt on May 18.

Diesel also recorded a similar decline, falling by 11 cents to €1.697/lt, compared with €1.815/lt a month ago.

The issue of directly passing on the international reduction in crude oil prices to the domestic market was raised by both Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis.

The recent price reduction at the pump – of 4 cents for diesel and 3 cents for unleaded gasoline – was registered after last Sunday.
