On the grounds of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, 19 cultural heritage sites were damaged as a result of a massive Russian attack on June 15; the Assumption Cathedral and the Kushnyk Tower sustained the most severe damage.

According to Ukrinform, the Ministry of Culture has reported this.

It is noted that priority emergency restoration work is continuing at the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra to protect the shrine from further damage.

First Deputy Minister of Culture Ivan Verbytsky inspected the progress of work to address the aftermath of the attack and protect the shrine.

He emphasized that one of the key tasks remains protecting the cathedral from further weather damage and preserving its unique historical and artistic decor.
