"The recent incident has only strengthened our resolve to protect national institutions, support our security personnel, and ensure future attacks do not catch us unprepared," he stated.

President Bola Tinubu has ordered the development of a comprehensive security action plan within 72 hours following a deadly attack on the perimeter of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Plateau State, that claimed the lives of two soldiers and a police officer.

The directive came as the President also approved the immediate and permanent reinforcement of security at the country's foremost policy and leadership training institution, signalling the Federal Government's determination to prevent future attacks on strategic national assets.

Vice President Kashim Shettima conveyed the presidential directive on Friday during a visit to the institution to commiserate with management, staff, participants of the Senior Executive Course (SEC) 48, 2026, and residents affected by the incident.

Addressing participants during the visit, Shettima said the Federal Government would not permit criminal elements to undermine institutions that play a critical role in governance, leadership development, and policy innovation.
