The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has deployed a high-level election monitoring team to observe the Ekiti State governorship election scheduled for Saturday, reaffirming its commitment to democratic governance, electoral integrity, and the rule of law.

According to a statement issued by the NBA's National Publicity Secretary, Bridget Edokwe, the legal body said the move was aimed at ensuring compliance with constitutional provisions, electoral laws, and democratic standards throughout the election process.

The delegation is headed by a former National Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and former Chairman of the commission’s Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye.

The NBA said Okoye’s experience in electoral administration and democratic governance would strengthen its election observation efforts.
