A total of 16 participating schools will jostle for honour in the forthcoming 10th edition of the Tolaram Science Challenge, slated to commence on Friday, June 19, 2026, as the competition celebrates a landmark milestone – a decade of promoting excellence in STEM education.
The Tolaram Science Challenge, an annual science competition for schools in the Ibeju-Lekki axis of Lagos within the Lagos Free Zone, is the flagship Corporate Social Responsibility initiative of LFZ, aimed at developing and promoting science education among students in the area.
The competition is a platform that brings together bright young minds from secondary schools across Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, to showcase innovative ideas and practical solutions to real-world challenges through Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
The competition, which features 16 participating secondary schools, will see each school represented by six students. Among the list of participating schools include Ibeju Senior High School, Ibeju Agbe; Community Senior Secondary School, Debojo; Community Senior Secondary School, Akodo/Orofun; Royal Triple Dee School, Ibeju Lekki; Community Senior High School, Lekki, Ibeju-Lekki; Igbogun Senior High School, Igbogun; Laborc Schools, Orimedu; Community Senior High School, Magbon Segun; Iwerekun Community High school, Lakowe; Ise Senior High School, Epe; Lacaperia Academy, Obadore; Magbon-Alade Senior Grammar School; and Community Senior High School, Idata/Ilagbo.Speaking on the initiative, the Chief Executive Officer, Lagos Free Zone, Adesuwa Ladoja, explained that the initiative reflects Lagos Free Zone’s commitment to advancing quality education and nurturing future leaders through strategic investments in youth development and STEM education.
