Of these, 7,228 complaints were still pending, while 796 complaints were reopened by citizens after they were dissatisfied with the action taken. Of the 1,72,256 complaints received across its two zones, only 3,128 remained unresolved.Officials told The Hindu that the recently introduced phone-in programmes had helped improve grievance redressal, as residents could directly speak to commissioners and raise issues, which were then reviewed in subsequent sessions. However, officials said pending complaints continue to accumulate in departments that depend on coordination with other civic agencies. They pointed to waste management issues involving the Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWML) and electricity-related grievances involving Bescom as examples. In the case of road-related complaints, the officials attributed delays to staff shortages and irregular execution of works, which have contributed to unresolved grievances and repeated complaints.
