Food safety inspections in Hyderabad malls reveal expired items and hygiene violations at multiplexes

Expired food items, spoiled vegetables, improperly stored cooked and frozen products, open dustbins and inadequate hygiene practices were among the violations detected by food safety teams of the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) during inspections at movie theatres operating inside malls across Hyderabad on Friday, June 19.At PVR Inox in Inorbit Mall, officials found expired sev and spoiled cauliflower, both of which were discarded immediately. The inspection team also found poor housekeeping around the soft drink dispensing area and observed labelling discrepancies on certain food items. Cooked chicken tikka was found stored in a freezer.
