For a third time in less than six months, the Dharwad district court received a bomb threat this time via telephone on Friday and after thorough search it again turned out to be a hoax.According to the police, the court administrative office of the district court received a telephonic call warning about the bomb. The unknown caller reportedly threatened that bombs had been kept at various places on the court premises and they might explode at any time.Following the threat, the court staff immediately informed the police, who as a precaution, immediately evacuated the judges, advocates, court staff and litigant public from the court premises.A thorough check was launched immediately with dog squad being pressed into service. The thorough check did not yield any suspicious object and it turned out to be a hoax.The police said that steps had been taken to trace the call and further investigation was on.In January this year, High Court of Karnataka in Dharwad and the District Courts in Gadag and Bagalkot received emails about bomb threat which ultimately turned out to be hoax. In February again, the Dharwad Bench of High Court of Karnataka and district court had simultaneously received bomb threats through emails, which also turned out to be hoax.
