Kolkata: Reliance Industries plans to build advanced manufacturing platforms spanning beverages, daily essentials, garments and affordable electronics, with a strong focus on expanding exports, chairman Mukesh Ambani said on Friday.Speaking at the company's 49th annual general meeting, held virtually, Ambani said Reliance is building a garment manufacturing ecosystem through supplier partnerships across 21 clusters nationwide. The company intends to replicate this model for affordable electronics too, including smart eyewear, televisions, smartphones and connected wearables.“Our exports platform is a logical extension of our manufacturing platform in retail. The rapid growth of our consumer brands business in India has given us the confidence to build a strong and scalable global FMCG business,” Ambani told shareholders.Ambani said the company has commenced exports of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) products to Europe and Africa with the global reach now touching over 40 countries.Also Read | Reliance AGM 2026 Key Takeaways: 10 biggest announcements from Ambani's vision for the futureReliance Industries non-executive director Isha Ambani, who oversees the retail and FMCG businesses, said the company has already invested Rs 10,000 crore in food parks and plans to invest another Rs 30,000 crore over the next three years.She said Reliance is now producing beverages across 12 states through high-speed bottling lines at multiple greenfield plants.“We are building food parks across India—modern, integrated facilities with multi-category production lines spanning biscuits, chocolates, staples and packaged foods, designed to drive scale efficiencies through cross-category integration,” said Ms Ambani.Reliance operates India’s largest retail business and aims to build the country’s largest FMCG business targeting revenue of Rs 1 lakh crore by 2030. In FY26, the retail business reported gross revenue of Rs 3.7 lakh crore and profit after tax of Rs 13,838 crore, while the FMCG business recorded gross sales of about Rs 22,000 crore.Also Read | Forget chatbots, Ambani's Reliance wants to own India's entire AI economy“Soon, it (FMCG business) will become a value-creating engine for Reliance Industries, comparable in scale and profitability to our retail business,” Isha Ambani said.Mukesh Ambani said Reliance is also building a manufacturing and supply-chain platform for fresh fruits and vegetables by modernising sourcing, cold-chain infrastructure and distribution networks. “This will give farmers fairer returns, shopkeepers dependable supply, and every family fresher food at fairer prices,” he said.
