The annual awards, organized by American magazine Travel + Leisure, recognize destinations, hotels and travel experiences across the Asia-Pacific region based on factors including visitor experience, hospitality standards, service quality and tourism offerings.
This year, Phu Quoc ranked behind only Koh Samui in Thailand and ahead of several well-known island destinations, including Bali in Indonesia, Palawan in the Philippines, Langkawi in Malaysia and Sumba in Indonesia.

The ranking adds to a series of recognitions for Vietnam's largest island. In 2025, Condé Nast Traveler named Phu Quoc Asia's most beautiful island and the world's third most beautiful island. Earlier this year, readers of DestinAsian voted it the second-best island in Asia, up from fifth place previously.
In a recent feature, DestinAsian described Phu Quoc as entering "a new era of tropical tourism."
