While some people collect passport stamps, tableware or handbags, I collect shoes. They’re my “thing’” and over the last 15 years as a fashion editor, you bet I’ve created quite the collection of beloved pairs. As someone who loves summer and will bare their toes at the first sign of sun, sandals are my favourite style to shop. And let me tell you, there are so many exciting styles that feel fresh for 2026.
Fashion has been injected with fun this season, and quiet luxury has been replaced with showstopping statement trends. Fringed details took over the runways at Loewe and Balmain, and Asos has just dropped a butter yellow slip-on style to tick off the trend. When it comes to colours, H&M has just launched a £22.99 knotted rope sandal (they look very Miu Miu) that can fill the void for anyone who missed out on the M&S red pair that’s taken over Instagram in recent weeks.
And with every fashion person embracing the humble flip flop, no doubt you’ll want to try out the Topshop tiger style that’ll liven up any outfit or the jelly pair by Next (yep, jelly shoes are back).
It’s time to add some fun to your feet with these flat high street sandals that are so good, I predict they’ll sell out as quickly as that M&S rope style.
