A businessman faces eviction from Hindu organisation's property in Phoenix.
The KwaZulu-Natal High Court in Durban has ordered the eviction of businessman Kader Latiff and his company, G7 Towlines, from a property belonging to the Caneside Sanathan Hindu Dharma Sabha in Phoenix.
The court ruled that Latiff, G7 Towlines and any indivDiduals claiming rights through them must vacate the immovable property situated at 58 Canehaven Drive in Phoenix. A firm deadline has been set, with the respondents ordered to leave the premises by August 31, 2026.
The order follows an application brought by the sabha, which maintains that the property is owned by them and that Latiff and his company are unlawfully occupying it.
Latiff, however, denied occupying the organisation's land, insisting that his business operations are being conducted on adjacent property and not on land owned by the sabha.
