They are honored with fun awards like Artist of the Millennium (RuPaul), the Allison Williams Cool Girl Award (Ciara Miller), the All Good Either Way Award For Bisexuality In Media (Hannah Einbinder) and Titan of Culture (Will Ferrell).Kudrow was there to accept her award — just after Grammy-winning singer and actor Ben Platt serenaded her with a very familiar song. "I remember when we were shooting early on... that night before he was elected, I remember thinking, 'This can't be. This is going in the wrong direction.'"The next morning, she immediately texted actor Elisabeth Moss. But for all the storylines focused on patients' hardships, the hit HBO Max drama has devoted just as much to the dynamics of the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center’s staff — particularly its hard-nosed chief physician, Dr. Robby (Noah Wyle).Season 2 especially exposed Robby’s increasingly volatile behavior at work as his deteriorating mental health strained several relationships with colleagues. However, it was his interactions with the women on staff that drew heavy backlash from viewers who called out the pattern. Now, several stars of “The Pitt” are weighing in, too."I noticed the whole time," Taylor Dearden, who plays Dr. Mel King, recently told The Wrap of Robby's dismissiveness. "We’re not in the writers’ room. We don’t know exactly what they were thinking or wanting to show. If it wasn’t purposeful, then it’s like, ‘Hey! Notice the feedback?’ That’s really good for everyone to know that this is also what sexism looks like. And according to the actor, that experience ultimately inspired a storyline for his character in the Lena Dunham-created comedy."I told Lena and [co-showrunner] Jenni Konner a story about when I was 25 that I had dated Anderson Cooper, and I told them about the experience and what that was like, and then it became the story that Elijah had in the series,” Rannells explained, per Entertainment Weekly.The storyline in question emerges in Season 5 when Elijah starts dating an older, successful news anchor named Dill Harcourt (played by Corey Stoll).While his love affair with Cooper was short-lived, Rannells said Dunham and Konner still found it compelling enough to build the Dill character around the CNN anchor."When I told them that,” Rannells said on the podcast, “they were like, 'Oh, that's a fun story.’”Read more at Entertainment Weekly.The Internet Loses It Over Netflix’s ‘Maternal Instinct’ True Crime Doc: ‘That Woman Is Bats**t Crazy’Another week, another wild true crime documentary on Netflix.At the top of Netflix's movie charts this week is "Maternal Instinct," a film so dark and wild that I paused it at least twice to either scream or say, "wait, what?""In a small East Texas town, a young woman from a wealthy family falls for a local hog trapper," Netflix's logline of the doc reads. "Their relationship appears perfect and within months she's pregnant and proudly showing off her baby bump all over social media. But when a state trooper pulls her over and discovers she has just given birth in her car, her story quickly falls apart, exposing the truth behind a terrifying and unthinkable crime.""Maternal Instinct" follows Taylor Parker who falls for Wade Griffin, moves in with him in New Boston, Texas, and quickly announces that she's pregnant with a baby girl just months after they met in 2020. But ... Parker actually wasn't pregnant — I'll save some of the gasp-worthy details — and she went to great lengths to conceal the truth. Then, toward the end of Parker's pregnancy, she commits an extremely gruesome crime. Parker killed her 21-year-old pregnant friend Reagan Simmons-Hancock; she cut out the child from the womb and tried to pass the baby off as her own. She called 911 when the baby stopped breathing, and state troopers escorted her to the hospital. There, it was determined that she had never been pregnant.Simmons-Hancock's mother discovered her daughter's body. She had been stabbed 15 times and had 98 other wounds. Simmons-Hancock's 3-year-old daughter was hiding under a bed in the house.Parker was convicted of capital murder in October 2022.
