The United Kingdom will jointly lead the Multinational Force for Ukraine Headquarters together with France starting in July.

This was announced by UK Defence Secretary Dan Jarvis after the conclusion of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

“I am proud to announce that the UK will assume command of the Multinational Force for Ukraine Headquarters next month. Under the leadership of Major General Tom Bateman, the UK, France, alongside with allies and partners, will prepare for the long-term regeneration of Ukraine’s Armed Forces when a peace deal is agreed,” Jarvis said.

He also reiterated an earlier announcement that the UK will provide 150,000 Ukrainian-made drones, along with more than 350 air defense missiles and radars. The package, worth £750 million, will be delivered by the end of the year and financed through revenues from frozen Russian assets under the ERA loan program.

According to the British official, commitments made by the UDCG members have a direct impact on the battlefield.
