RC Strasbourg Alsace has agreed to sign Benjamin Brantlind, the 17-year-old Swedish attacking midfielder, from IFK Gothenburg.
Brantlind, born on August 15, 2008, has already logged 22 senior appearances in Sweden’s top-flight Allsvenskan, scoring two goals.
A contract situation that made the move inevitable
Brantlind’s contract runs until December 31, 2026. No extension talks had taken place. With just months remaining on the deal, IFK Gothenburg faced a straightforward choice: sell now and recoup some value, or watch Brantlind leave for free in January 2027.
Brantlind’s market value on Transfermarkt sits between €150,000 and €200,000. Analyst projections, however, tell a different story, with estimates ranging from €2.5 million to €4 million.
