A woman was rescued from an alleged suicide attempt in Jagtial district after a swift response by the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGICCC) and local police under the Dial 112 Emergency Response Support System on Thursday (June 18).According to the officials, a distress call was received at the Dial 112 call centre at 12.23 p.m. reporting that a woman was attempting to take her own life at a canal under the limits of Metpalli police station.Recognising the seriousness of the situation, Dial 112 personnel alerted the Station House Officer of Metpalli police station within a minute, and maintained continuous coordination to ensure a rapid response.Acting on the information, the SHO immediately dispatched police personnel to the location. Officials said that the woman was traced and rescued safely within 15 minutes before any untoward incident could occur.The woman was subsequently taken to the police station, where she was provided counselling and support. Police officials said the successful rescue was made possible through quick action by local police and real-time coordination by the Dial 112 emergency response team.The SHO later informed Dial 112 officials about the successful operation and appreciated the centre’s prompt communication, continuous monitoring and coordination, which helped ensure the woman’s safety.
