President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that he will take part in a meeting of the European Council today and said he hopes the remaining five negotiation clusters with the European Union will be opened over the coming weeks.

The head of state said this in a comment to journalists while in Brussels, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.

"We are very grateful to all European Union countries for opening the first cluster ['Fundamentals']. This is a serious step forward for us. We are not stopping. Our wish is that in the coming weeks we will be able to open the other five clusters, so that all six clusters are opened and open the path for us to future EU membership," Zelensky said.

He assured that he would work toward this.
