WITH Bafana Bafana needing nothing less than a win against the Czech Republic in their second 2026 Fifa World Cup match at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday (kick-off 6pm), South African football fans believe coach Hugo Broos should go for the jugular.

Bafana lost 2-0 in the first game and all the fingers pointed the blame toward Broos because of his defensive formation of five natural defenders plus two defensive midfielders. Broos is not the one to change his mind easily, and that is the reason why South Africans would be divided regarding what result to really expect from this match.

That is why Independent Media football scribes Smiso Msomi and Mihlali Baleka got behind their keyboards and deliberated why Bafana will win or lose.

The pressure surrounding Bafana Bafana has created an understandable sense of pessimism.
