Bafana Bafana ought to crry the Youth Day spirit into their World Cup clash against Czechia.

THE “joint communiqué”, the public statement posted by the South African Football Association (SAFA) on its website on Sunday, June 14, should form the motivation bundle needed by Hugo Broos and Bafana Bafana ahead of their clash against Czechia on Thursday night.

Bafana will kick off match week two of the 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage fixtures when they meet Czechia at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, at 6pm on Thursday night.

Since the final whistle in their first match against Mexico exactly a week ago, the South Africans have known they have to win their next match, come rain or shine, to keep their last-32 hopes alive.

The Europeans also face the same situation, having lost to South Korea in their opening match as well.
