A former Samoa Uniting Party (SUP) candidate who contested the 2025 General Election is among several individuals charged following the latest phase of police operations targeting illegal drugs across Samoa.
Tuamanuvao Pualele Fui, who stood for the Falealili No. 1 constituency under the SUP banner, has been charged as part of ongoing Police enforcement efforts against alleged drug-related offending.
In its latest update under Phase 9 of the operation, the Samoa Police, Prisons and Corrections Services said additional individuals have been charged with offences including the alleged possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, live ammunition and drug-related utensils.
Police said all matters are being progressed in accordance with the law and those charged will appear before the Courts in due course.
When contacted by the Samoa Observer, Tuamanuvao declined to comment on the allegations, stating that the matter was now in his lawyer's hands.
