Unsuccessful 2025 election candidates Nonu William Mauia and Tuiloma Laniselota Lameko are returning to the ballot, joining nine others in the Falealili No. 1 and Vaimauga No. 3 by-elections.
The six other candidates competing across the two constituencies are Seumafaleupolu Aperila Vaa Tiai, Si’a Faaletonu Alec Latu, Fuaolemoli Falaila Faausu Allen, Patea Taveuveu Taamaletoa Aipovi Patea, Sooialo Lemigaoitamalii Sooialo and Auseugalelelei Uiti Lagavale.
Nonu contested Vaimauga No. 3 under the Faatuatua i le Atua Samoa ua Tasi (FAST) Party banner in 2025, losing to Taioaliiseu Fiti Aimaasu by 369 votes. Taioaliiseu later sought to switch from the HRPP to FAST, triggering a by-election that former MP Lautimuia Uelese Vaai won. Taioaliiseu subsequently challenged the result, and the Electoral Court found both men guilty of corrupt practices, sending Vaimauga No. 3 to the polls again.
