Tenet Security emerged from stealth with $6 million in seed funding to expand a platform designed to monitor and control autonomous AI agents, as businesses seek ways to manage security risks tied to growing enterprise AI adoption Related TopicsAI security startup Tenet Security said on Wednesday it has raised $6 million in seed funding and launched a platform designed to monitor and control autonomous AI agents operating inside enterprise environments. The funding round was led by The Westly Group and MizMaa Venture, with participation from investors including Dazz founder Tomer Schwartz and former Coralogix CEO Lior Tal.2 View gallery Tenet co-founders Barak Sternberg and Nevo Poran (Photo: Nadav Margalit)Tenet was founded by Barak Sternberg and Nevo Poran, former cybersecurity researchers who worked on AI security initiatives at Cisco. The company is targeting what it sees as a growing challenge for businesses adopting AI agents capable of accessing corporate systems, databases and applications with limited human oversight.Companies across industries are increasingly deploying AI agents to automate tasks ranging from software development to business operations. The rapid adoption of such systems has raised concerns among security professionals about how to monitor and control autonomous software that can make decisions and take actions on behalf of users.Tenet said its platform analyzes the likely actions of AI agents before they are executed and can block activities deemed risky. The company said the system is designed to prevent unauthorized access, data leaks and other security incidents involving autonomous agents.2 View gallery Tenet team (Photo: Nadav Margalit)The startup also released research describing a type of attack it calls "Agentjacking," in which AI agents can be manipulated into carrying out actions requested by attackers. According to Tenet, its researchers tested the technique across more than 100 enterprise environments and identified organizations that could be exposed to such attacks. The findings have not been independently verified.Sternberg and Poran previously founded cybersecurity company Wild Pointer before joining Cisco. They said their experience working on AI-related threats led them to focus on security risks associated with autonomous agents rather than the underlying AI models themselves.Tenet said early customers have used its platform to identify security issues and operational problems involving AI agents, including excessive AI-computing costs and attempted cyberattacks. The company did not disclose customer names. The funding will be used to expand product development, grow the company's threat research team and increase its presence in North America. The launch comes as investors and cybersecurity companies seek to capitalize on growing enterprise spending related to artificial intelligence. Security vendors have increasingly introduced products aimed at addressing risks associated with AI systems as businesses move from experimental deployments to wider adoption of autonomous tools.Comments
