Equinix has launched a data center in Hong Kong.

The company officially opened HK6, its sixth International Business Exchange (IBX) data center in the Tsuen Wan area of the Chinese territory, this week.

With an initial investment of US$124 million, Equinix said HK6 can host up to 1,000 racks in its first phase. The facility will be able to host up to 3,550 racks at full build-out across 41,600 sq ft (3,865 sqm).

The 18-story facility is located at 18 Sha Tsui Road, within 2km of HK1, 2, and 3. Equinix first announced plans for the facility in 2024.
