The senator representing Edo Central Senatorial District, Joseph Ikpea, has said that local government areas must adopt security measures suited to their respective locations to curtail banditry, kidnapping and other crimes.
Ikpea, who gave the admonition in Benin City, Edo State capital, while speaking with journalists, expressed concern over the level of insecurity in the country.
The senator said the three security outposts he built in parts of Esan South-East Local Government Area when he was chairman are what security agencies are using today to check insecurity in the senatorial district.
He said, “To fight kidnapping and other vices, local government areas must adopt security measures suitable for their respective locations.
“Before we were sworn in as chairmen, some money was saved for the councils and this money, we were told, would be used for capital projects.
