Ahead, check out highlights from our conversation and find links to the full episode. On Why She Left Wall Street To Build Mary & Pip“I spent five years on Wall Street managing ultra-high-net-worth money at Deutsche Bank. While I was there, I noticed my sisters weren’t as on top of their finances as they necessarily should be. But who isn’t? There were plenty of tools out there, but they were just anxious and busy all the time. So I knew there was a gap. I just wasn’t sure exactly what to build yet. When I left to film a reality show and pursue modeling and freelancing full time, that’s when I really realized that I, myself, not getting a steady paycheck, was super anxious about money.“So [in] season one of Love Thy Nader, I pitched Mary & Pip. Mary & Pip is a financial wellness brand first. We’re building a behavioral finance app, basically a mindful robo-advisor that will come out later this year, so we’ll manage your money for you. We’re an RIA [registered investment advisor], so registered, [and] I’m providing tools that I used for ultra-high-net-worth people to just everyday folk. So I’m really excited. There’s a lot of behavioral elements to the app as well, which is, I think, our differentiator.”Mary Holland NaderWant to save this story for later? No need to bookmark—get it straight to your inbox. We've sent this story to your inbox. On Stepping IntoThe CEO Role“I think my biggest struggle is taking myself seriously, if that makes sense. I am merging these two completely opposite industries: finance with fashion and reality entertainment. And while my sisters sometimes think that the way I’m taken seriously is by networking and traveling to Europe, my founder friends are working 24/7 and burning the midnight oil. And so it’s really hard for me, personally, to walk in rooms sometimes as this fashionista Nader sister and remember that I am also a CEO, and I also have this extensive background in finance and know what I’m talking about. So I think step one is, like, believing in myself, which sounds so cliché, but it’s really hard.”On Her Wellness Essentials“My red-light mask [is essential] every single morning.… I use CurrentBody. Just drop it on, and I’m good.… It’s a big no-no to steal [a] red-light mask, but if [mine’s] dead and I’m in L.A., I have to borrow Brooks’.… Of course I sanitize and clean it, obviously, but I understand that it’s an intimate, precious thing. So red-light [masks], [I’ll] steal [from my sister] a lot. She uses the Shark CryoGlow. It’s a great mask as well.“I’ve [also] recently been into the vibration plate. I have circulation issues. Who doesn’t these days? We’re sitting down for our entire life. So my business partner, Kara, got it on TikTok Shop. We were in between meetings and didn’t have time to go for a full walk, because movement is so important for your cognitive ability. We always try to move, take walking meetings, but truly didn’t have time. So she was like, ‘Hop on the vibration plate.’ And I was like, ‘Okay. Twist my arm.’ I got on it, and let me tell you, it gave me a jolt of energy. I felt so energized. I truly [felt] like the oxygen made its way back to my brain.… It was kind of like a midday nap. You can [even] wear your red light on it.”On Showing Her Authentic Self“[Filming] has made me more open. I was definitely more of the shy sister when we first started last year, and I was much more concerned and aware of how I am going to be perceived. This year, I don’t know if I’m more confident or if I’m just used to the cameras, but it’s almost like, ‘If you have a show, why not give it all? And why not show every single ugly part of you in hopes that some girl watching could relate?’ And so I think that’s what we’re all trying to do in season two, and what you can look forward to is each of us really [coming] into our own identities and our collective identity as sisters. I think that you can see a lot more of yourself in each of us because we’re just unapologetically pursuing our own paths.”On Her Carry-On Packing List“I’m a Gorgie girl. They have energy and electrolyte packets, so I have one of each in my carry-on. [They’re] so good—all-natural. And then I have Lumify because my eyes are obviously bloodshot. [Then a] Medicube mask for the plane, and my red-light mask if I can fit it.… [Also] eye patches. I like the 111skin [ones].“I [also] love the 4AM Skin makeup wipes. They’re mini little packets, so you can just pack a couple, and it’s like a whole face wash and makeup wipe [in one]. So I usually do my 4AM Skin cleanse, red light [and] Medicube, [then] close it out with some eye patches. Wake up to Lumify, and [then add] tinted moisturizer. Because usually I have to get off a plane and go straight to something. “Oh, and the Sleepy Tie curl thing. I’ve been really into that. They have a new method: It’s like a sock one. So it’s not the huge thing that looks really weird and awkward. It’s a play on the sock curls, but it just falls right over. There’s a clip and you just braid it in. It’s actually super cozy.” Mary Holland NaderOn Her Style Evolution“On Wall Street, I was there day in, day out, nine hours a day, sitting at a desk. So I was definitely not as thoughtful with my style. Today I’m on national television. I want to look good. I want people to get inspo from my style. Anytime I’m in the city, I have a blazer [on]. I try to be business casual but still fun and fashionable because I really want to express myself and my style, but then you never know when you’ll have an investor meeting and have to throw on [one].… I have one from House of CB. I love the shoulder pad moment and the cinched waist because it’s high-fashion yet still corporate. So this black House of CB one with shoulder pads is my go-to. I’ve worn it so many times.”On Creating A New Money Conversation“[My sisters and I] always talk to anyone who stops us because they’re the reason that the show exists. We’re so grateful when people are like, ‘I love your show!’ Or, ‘I have sisters!’ But my absolute favorite comment is when people are like, ‘I learned something from your content.’ Because we don’t even have an app yet. We’re just trying to build community and normalize talking about money with your friends. We’re just trying to bring [it] into everyday conversations to make people realize you don’t have to be an expert to inquire about it. And so when girls are like, ‘Me and my friends did a money ritual the other day,’ that’s my favorite comment ever because it shows an impact. And it’s all girls, all people like us.”Mary Holland Nader’s Tools For SuccessHer Productivity Tools: “Slack Enterprise for my team because I started hiring.… I [also] bought a bunch of tokens for Claude Code. I use it every single day. My engineer, Camille, built me a Claude agent. It basically scans all of my emails, Slacks [and] texts, [then] sends a to-do list every single morning at 9 a.m. to the Notes app on my phone. So no matter where I am in the world, no matter where I am in the day, what time zone I’m in, I can look at my phone to-do list and get things done for my company. I’ve been obsessed with using AI to be more proficient because you have to.”Her Most Empowering Fashion Purchase: “I bought a suit that I just felt so confident in. And [when] I say ‘suit,’ it’s a fashion moment. I actually wore it to our Hulu Get Real event. It was just shy of $2,000, which is insane for a suit, in my opinion. But I was like, ‘You know what? I want to feel powerful.’ I had recently become single, and I was like, ‘I want to look and feel confident.’ So I went on forward and just hit ‘buy.’ And I’ve worn it multiple times.”Her Favorite Vintage Find: “My Chanel [bag].… It’s not very economical, but I did get it secondhand. I don’t like buying [designer] unless it’s vintage.… [But] I think nice staple pieces are a smart investment.… I think one a year or, if you’re doing really well, like one a season. If that season’s five years, wait five years, and when you accomplish something, get something nice for yourself [so] you’ll really cherish it.… I stand by it because I worked really hard, and I only get it every once in a while.”Her Beauty Staples: “I steal my sisters’ compact Charlotte Tilbury powder, especially when we’re out.… We all steal from each other, but we’re like, ‘You have any touch-up?’ [We] slip it right in the purse, even if it’s subconscious. So definitely all of our touch-ups are up for grabs. I’ve [also] been loving the Anfisa lip gloss. It’s almost like a lip treatment because it’s super moisturizing, but it still makes your lips pop. And then the Anastasia Beverly Hills lip liner and O/S spray.”Her Must-Haves For A Nader Girls’ Trip: “A really cute bikini [and] my G7 X because I’m the honorary photographer of the family. Multiple chargers because I know mine will be stolen by a sister.… And honestly, since we’re going to the beach, we don’t need much. [Just] a really hot outfit, because we’ll be taking lots of pics, and a Dyson Airwrap.”Watch the full interview on YouTube or stream it on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
