Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has dismissed fears that artificial intelligence will make humans obsolete, arguing instead that the technology will increase demand for workers and create new opportunities.
Speaking at the VivaTech conference in Paris, Jeff Bezos pushed back against warnings from experts and policymakers who believe AI could lead to widespread job losses. He maintained that the technology would help remove barriers to growth and ultimately boost the need for human labour.
“I know there’s a lot of concern that many people have, including many smart people, that AI is going to make humans redundant and so on,” Bezos said.
“I totally disagree with this point of view. And I think, in fact, AI is going to create a labour shortage.”
