Sony Pictures has released a new trailer for “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” starring Tom Holland back as Spidey/Peter Parker. The Sony and Marvel film is set to premiere in theaters on July 31.

Following 2021’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” the latest entry into the Spider-Man universe (directed by Destin Daniel Cretton) picks up four years after the previous film’s end. Having erased himself from the lives and memories of those around him, Peter is living alone and “crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name,” per the film’s official logline. “He’s devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.”

In addition to Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Mark Ruffalo, Jon Bernthal and Michael Mando all return, with new additions including Sadie Sink, Tramell Tillman, Liza Colon-Zayas and Marvin Jones II joining the cast.

In footage unveiled at CinemaCon, audiences got a glimpse at Zendaya’s MJ with a new love interest — and Parker’s realization that she’s moved on.
