Isithombe KAIZER Chiefs on Wednesday announced Fernando da Cruz as their new head coach.

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the appointment of Frenchman Fernando da Cruz as their new head coach. He has signed a two-year contract with an option for an additional year, effective July 1, the club announced on Thursday night.

A French native, Da Cruz is highly qualified, holding a UEFA Pro Licence – the highest coaching certification in football.

This marks Da Cruz's second spell at the club. He previously worked briefly with Chiefs during pre-season two years ago as one of Nasreddine Nabi's assistant coaches, before joining the Moroccan Football Federation, where he served as technical director until the end of June.

Joining Da Cruz on the bench will be assistant coach Mahmoud Abbas, a 35-year-old Egyptian with extensive experience who will add further depth to the technical team.
