West Bromwich Albion are closing in on a permanent deal for Chelsea striker Jimmy-Jay Morgan, with the two clubs deep in negotiations over a transfer that could be confirmed as early as the week of June 16.
The deal is expected to involve a nominal transfer fee paired with a significant sell-on clause.
From Peterborough to the Hawthorns
Morgan spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Peterborough United, and it’s that stint that turned a promising academy kid into a genuine transfer target. His goalscoring form in League One generated interest from several Championship clubs, with West Brom ultimately emerging as the frontrunner.
The striker is just 20 years old, born on January 21, 2006, in Poole, England. He still has a year left on his Chelsea contract, which runs through 2027.
