Jamaican telco Flow has launched its 5G mobile network in the country, becoming the first carrier in the Caribbean island to do so.

Parent company Liberty Latin America (LLA) has launched Flow's 5G network after investing $74 million to support the rollout.

This consists of $50m in equipment and systems and $24m in spectrum licenses.

Following the company's launch, 5G coverage is available to more than 70 percent of Jamaica's population of 2.8 million.
