The Department of Posts has introduced cheque books for Post Office Savings Account holders. Under the new facility, cheque leaves will carry the account holder’s name, account number and the Department of Posts’ IFSC pre-printed on them. The initiative is aimed at improving convenience, security and customer experience.Savings account holders can avail themselves of the facility by submitting a request at their nearest post office. The personalised cheque book will be delivered free of cost to the customer’s registered address.The Department said existing instant cheque book facility at post office counters would continue alongside the new service.
