European missile manufacturer MBDA and the Ukrainian Luch Design Bureau have signed a memorandum of understanding regarding further development of the Neptune cruise missile and the creation of its new version, Neptune-2.
As reported by Ukrinform, this was stated on MBDA’s website.
“MBDA has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Ukrainian defense company Luch. This further collaboration with a Ukrainian company in the field of deep strike underlines MBDA’s contribution to supporting Ukraine,” the statement reads.
The agreement provides for the continued development of the Neptune missile.
“Luch and MBDA will pursue disruptive innovation to develop the deep strike capability for Neptune 2 while advancing strategic defense cooperation with Ukraine,” the company emphasized.
