A Cameroonian musician and humanitarian worker, Rose Meg Anoma Abuuh, professionally known as La Reine Yose, has alleged that she was unlawfully arrested and detained in Nigeria over a financial dispute with a Germany-based complainant, an ordeal she says has left her stranded in the country while her five children face serious challenges in Germany.
Abuuh, who described herself as a Cameroonian citizen resident in Germany for more than 25 years, said she was arrested on May 2, 2026, while in Nigeria on a six-day visit to carry out humanitarian projects and perform at events.
According to her account, she is "a widow and the mother of five German children," a professional musician, and the founder of a non-governmental organisation that supports victims of child sexual abuse, underprivileged children, single mothers and widows across Africa.
In a statement detailing her experience, Abuuh alleged that she was arrested without a warrant shortly before she was due to perform at an event.
