The Human Rights Protection Party’s claims against the government, claiming that the selection of district council chairs was unconstitutional, will be heard on 13 July.

The matter was called before Justice Leiataualesa Daryl Clarke to confirm a timetable to file documents before it is heard in court.

HRPP King’s Counsel Rodney Harrison and senior overseas counsel representing the Office of the Attorney General, Ben Keith, joined the session through video call.

The counsel agreed with the timeline discussed and committed to following the timeline.

Harrison further told the court that it would be easier to serve documents on the Faʻatuatua i le Atua Samoa ua Tasi (FAST) Party in order to get it to the individual chairman involved in the statement of claim.
