The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Tuesday, sought stronger ties with the European Union on agricultural development, education and climate change.
The request was made when the governor played host to a EU delegation, led by the EU Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Amb Gautier Mignot, at his private residence in Ibadan.
The meeting, which also centred on collaboration between Oyo State and the EU to fight against gender-based violence, had in attendance the Head of Section for Human Development at the European Union in Nigeria, Prof Leila Ben-Amor Mathieu, Executive Adviser on Agribusiness and International Cooperation to Oyo State Governor, Dr Debo Akande, and the Executive Assistant on Administration, Revd Idowu Ogedengbe.
The governor later went into a private session with Amb Mignot.
