Bayer Leverkusen has completed a €32 million deal to sign Afonso Moreira from Olympique Lyon, landing one of Ligue 1’s most electrifying young wingers in a transfer that perfectly illustrates the economics of modern football’s talent pipeline.
Lyon bought Moreira from Sporting CP for just €2 million last summer. One standout season later, they’re cashing out at 16 times their initial investment.
