Christian Pulisic, the USMNT’s captain and most important attacking player, is nursing a left calf injury that has him training individually rather than with the full squad. The US Soccer Federation announced his status as day to day.
Pulisic picked up the knock during the USMNT’s 4-1 victory over Paraguay in their 2026 World Cup opener. He took a kick to his left calf in the first half, and despite contributing an assist before halftime, the coaching staff pulled him at the break as a precautionary measure.
What happened against Paraguay
Pulisic himself seemed measured about the situation after the match.
“I’m really hoping that it’s nothing.”
